Gadsden Correctional Release Paths
Gadsden Correctional Facility is a private-contract Florida state prison for women. Management & Training Corporation operates it under FDC authority. Its Quincy location does not make it part of the Sheriff’s jail system. The inmate record, sentence computation, transfer history, release date, and supervision record are state matters. A county booking search is relevant only if the person later enters the county jail in a separate custody episode.
Several events can end a person’s stay at Gadsden Correctional Facility. An institution transfer keeps the person in FDC custody. A community-release placement may also remain a form of legal custody. A final out-custody event can be followed by probation, conditional release, parole for an eligible older case, or another state supervision status. Only the FDC record can distinguish those paths with confidence.
| FDC result | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Current population at Gadsden Correctional | State-prison custody continues at the facility |
| Current population at another institution | Transfer, not release from FDC |
| Past Release Date and Date Out-Custody | The listed FDC confinement episode ended |
| Active supervised-population record | Confinement ended, but state supervision continues |
Confirm Gadsden Correctional Releases
Start at the FDC Corrections Offender Information Network. Choose Inmate Release Information, not just Inmate Population. The release database covers people released from state prison and people scheduled for release, and FDC says it updates nightly. Search with the six-character DC number when known. Otherwise, enter first and last name, keep aliases included when appropriate, and compare birth date and other identifiers before accepting a match.
Open the detail record. A historical Release Date paired with a Date Out-Custody in incarceration history is strong evidence that the displayed state-prison episode ended. Then search the Supervised Population database with the same DC number. An active result means the person is out of confinement but still under listed community supervision. If the person appears in current population at another FDC site, the change was a transfer.
- Search Inmate Release Information by DC number or name.
- Match committed name, aliases, birth date, case county, and sentence history.
- Read the Release Date and incarceration out-custody fields together.
- Check Current Population for a transfer or continuing confinement.
- Check Supervised Population for control that follows prison release.
Gadsden Correctional Release Fields
The public FDC release detail can show the DC number, committed name, race, sex, birth date, custody, Release Date, aliases, offense description, sentence date, county, case number, sentence length, in-custody date, out-custody date, and photograph. A photograph on the state detail is an FDC offender image and may not be the booking image from a county arrest.
The public release detail does not supply a release-reason field. A displayed date alone therefore does not distinguish expiration of sentence, conditional release, parole, court action, or another legal authority. When that distinction matters, ask FDC for the admission and release record, actual release and out-custody date, public release authority or type, sentence-computation sheet, incarceration history, and public offender photograph.
- Release Date
- The date shown on a historical FDC release record.
- Date Out-Custody
- The end date for the listed incarceration episode.
- Discharge
- The end of the relevant custody or supervision term, depending on the record.
- Community supervision
- State control outside prison, such as probation or conditional release.
Note: FDC release and location changes are nightly, not real-time, so verify close to an expected movement.
Gadsden Correctional Release Records
FDC’s public-records route is the official fallback when the online fields do not resolve the outcome. Requests can seek an existing admission, movement, transfer, and release record. They should be narrow and identify the person by full name and DC number. FDC reviews responsive material for exemptions and may provide a cost estimate before preparation and redaction. Medical, substance-use, presentence, victim, and security material can be withheld under Florida law.

Gadsden Correctional Facility History
Official oversight research gives this prison a distinct local history. An OPPAGA facility report says Gadsden Correctional Facility opened in March 1995 as a contracted female prison. Its current program summary describes the institution as Florida’s single private prison housing women. Oversight transferred from the Department of Management Services to FDC under Chapter 2023-268. The operator remains a contractor, but FDC is the correctional authority for the offender and release record.
This division of labor is crucial in Gadsden County, where a Sheriff jail and several state units share the same geography. The facility telephone may help with institution-specific questions, but sentence and release proof should come from FDC. A contractor’s local operation does not create a separate county release database or change the statewide DC-number search path.
A photograph on an FDC detail is also a state offender image, not necessarily the booking photograph from a Gadsden County arrest. Match the DC number, committed name, birth date, offense county, and incarceration history before treating it as part of the same custody record.
Note: Custodian labels matter more than county location because the state, not the Sheriff, controls this prison release record.
Gadsden Correctional Release Dates
A current-population profile can display a Current Release Date. Florida law calls the gain-time projection a tentative release date. It can change after gain-time awards, forfeiture, restoration, additional sentences, corrected jail credit, amended judgments, mandatory minimums, or administrative review. A profile may show TO BE SET while review is pending or SENTENCED TO LIFE instead of a calendar date.
For covered offenses on or after October 1, 1995, section 944.275 generally prevents gain-time from producing release before at least 85 percent of the imposed sentence has been served, with actual incarceration credit counted. That rule is not a safe shortcut for calculating a named person’s date. Offense date, eligibility, sentence structure, mandatory terms, credits, and later changes all matter. Confirm the live FDC field and the sentence computation rather than doing calendar math.
Gadsden Correctional Release Alerts
Florida Statewide VINE includes FDC events and can provide a timely status check or notification. Search the person through VINELink, verify the facility and identifier, and register for the available phone, text, email, or in-app method. Telephone registration uses a four-digit PIN to acknowledge the notice and stop repeat calls. VINE is agency-fed and should prompt a records check, not replace it.
FDC also has a separate Victim Notification Request for qualifying users. That registration can cover release, transfer, escape, death, and out-to-court events. FDC states that direct VINELink registration is not shared back to its Victim Services Unit, so each registration remains in its own system. For a final finding, pair a VINE alert with the FDC release detail or official movement record.
Note: Notification reports a custodian’s status change; the FDC detail establishes whether state confinement ended or merely moved.
Gadsden Correctional Record Boundaries
FDC’s database covers felony offenders sentenced to state prison or state supervision. It does not cover people sentenced only to county jail or county probation. Someone who bonded out of Gadsden County Jail on a local case may never appear. Conversely, a person transferred from that jail into this state prison should be followed in FDC and should not be labeled released merely because the Sheriff roster no longer shows the name.
A past FDC out-custody date ends the listed state-prison episode, but it does not prove the person is free from all other authority. State supervision, a new county hold, federal custody, or immigration custody may follow. The Gadsden County release-record search explains how to check those custody classes without mixing Sheriff and FDC records.
